Student Satisfaction
I hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry from UC Berkeley and spent over ten years teaching chemistry at Davidson College, bringing true university level standards into high school instruction.
My approach emphasizes deep conceptual understanding and disciplined problem solving, helping students earn strong AP Chemistry results and develop the confidence needed for advanced STEM coursework.
Preparation that strengthens AP performance and builds the foundation needed for college chemistry and pre-med coursework. I have over twenty years of tutoring experience, working primarily with motivated students pursuing premed and STEM pathways. Preparing them for both AP success and the demands of college science.
Even the most capable students can find chemistry challenging; especially when long study hours don’t translate into top scores. Personalized tutoring bridges that gap, turning uncertainty into confidence and strong results.
At Chem Help ASAP, I work with students the way top educators do, with precision, insight, and guided practice that builds real mastery. Every session is interactive and personalized, helping students solve complex problems with confidence, and excel in the demanding path toward premed success.

Most tutoring centers use under-qualified tutors who have yet to finish their degree and are inexperienced as a teacher in a classroom. Without the right expertise, students miss more than answers; they miss the foundation for lasting success in chemistry and future coursework.
Karin has earned her Masters in Chemistry from UC Berkeley. She has spent over a decade teaching college chemistry and over 20 years tutoring individual students. Her knowledge and experience helps students master complex chemistry concepts with clarity and confidence, building a foundation for long-term academic and premed success.
However, Karin is highly selective in the students she works with, ensuring personalized attention and the highest level of guidance.
I work with high school and college students in chemistry, including honors chemistry, AP Chemistry, and college general, and analytical chemistry.
I also offer group tutoring for those students more comfortable tutoring with their peers.
Groups can be structured in several ways, but the most common is for students to work with other students in their class. If you would like to explore group options, please register for a consultation.
Not at all! Tutoring is most effective when started early. Many students come to strengthen their foundation, get ahead, or boost confidence before exams.
All sessions are live over Zoom. A tablet or device with a stylus is recommended for the best interactive experience.
Standard sessions are 1 hour, but longer sessions, especially for exam prep, can be arranged.
I explain concepts, work through examples, and then guide students as they solve problems on their own. Sessions are interactive, with plenty of time for questions.
Many students notice progress within a few sessions, but consistency matters most. Tutoring builds both knowledge and confidence over time.
I won’t just give you answers, I will guide you step by step so you understand the concepts and can solve similar problems independently.
Yes! I help students prepare for AP exams, midterms, finals, and placement tests with both content review and test-taking strategies.
